The aims of this project were to document the effects of native budworm (Helicoverpa punctigera) larvae on yield and quality of the newer pulse crops (chickpeas, lupins, faba beans, lentils, canola), to develop sampling methods and the most appropriate control actions, especially the timing of sprays in relation to crop growth and the use of effective chemicals and rates.
