The aim of the project was to identify potentially useful atmospheres for extending the shelf life of leafy Asian vegetables and to estimate plastic film parameters that would enable an atmosphere to be maintained within a package. The project focused on seven leafy Asian vegetables of importance to the Australian industry : pak choy, tatsoi, mizuna, mibuna, Chinese mustard, choy sum and garland chrysanthemum (Chrysanthemum coronarium)
