In May 1999, a Paricipative Rural Appraisal was conducted in the Swan Valley on the northern fringe of Perth, Western Australia. A sample of 52 people were asked eight general questions in a semi-structured interview, with their responses forming the basis of this report. A wide variety of topics were raised (including agricultural, social, environmental and planning), along with current issues and future concerns in these areas. Both the topics raised and the process used were presented to the community
