Abstract: The Avon River catchment is the western sub catchment of the Avon River Basin and extends across sixteen Shires with an area of more than two million hectares. Currently about 900 farmers are involved in local groups which comprise sixteen Land Conservation District Committees, eighty-two catchment groups and four farm improvement groups. The 1700 farmers in the region produced fourteen percent ($329 million) of the total value of the State's agricultural production. Wheat and wool are the major products
