Warehouse beetle (Trogoderma variabile) was first found in Western Australia on a northern wheatbelt farm in 1979. In line with the existing policy an attempt was made at eradication. However the same property was found to be re-infected in 1991. Following more extensive and successful eradication action on this infestation, more warehouse beetle finds were made on other properties.
