Presents the results of preliminary experiments that explore the ability of the Optical Fibre Diameter Analyser (OFDA) to measure the diameter profile of a single wool fibre. The measured diameter profile of several fibres was enhanced by scouring fibres before measurement. Measurements along the same fibre are almost as repeatable as measuring mean fibre diameter of 2 mm snippets using the OFDA.
