Lure interactions were found to reduce trapping efficiency. Field experiments in Kalumburu found a significant interaction between capilure and methyl engenol (ME) causing reduced numbers of Bactrocera tenuifascia, in methyl eugenol traps. Experiments in Perth at Gosnells and Maddington demonstrated that the interaction between capilure and methyl eugenol reduced trap catches of Ceratitus capitata.
