Steers implanted with Revalor S gained liveweight significantly faster than steers implanted with Compudose 200 or no implant Controls. The faster growth of the Revalor implanted steers resulted in heavier carcasses at slaughter with a greater financial return. There was no difference in backfat (P8) between treatments. The heavier carcasses of the Revalor animals was only partly responsible for the larger eye muscles of the Longisimus dorsi at slaughter as covariance analysis adjusting for the variati
rcass weight.
