Gibberellic acid (GA) is a naturally occurring hormone or growth-regulating chemical that is found to varying degrees in all parts of a plant. Gibberrelic acid is used to reduce the incidence and/or severity of some citrus disorders that occur due to environmental conditions and not disease. This Farmnote discusses four key disorders where gibberellic acid can be used on citrus: albedo breakdown (also known as creasing); watermark (also known as waterburn); oleocellosis (also known as oil spotting or oil rn); and to delay rind aging in late harvest varieties. This Farmnote also deals with methods for spraying gibberrelic acid.
