Abstract: Describes the risks of animal diseases that can be transmitted to humans, these diseases are commonly referred to as zoonotic diseases. This video describes the meat processing industry risks, including the areas of most risk and those people at most risk. It describes strategies to minimise the risk of contracting diseases from infected animals by adhering to safe work practices. Also important is ensuring that persons with no immunity are aware of the risks and take steps to minimise them. It also descr es the risks associated with working with live cattle, mainly in the dairy industry and how to minimise these risks.
