Abstract: (En)
"Subsurface acidity occurring at 10-14 cm in sandplain soils of Western Australia restricts plant growth and yield primarily through the toxic effects of aluminium reducing root growth and subsequent access to water and nutrients. This project was able to deep place lime and achieved significant yield responses by direct treatment of subsurface acidity. However, the process was not easy and there were many instances where satisfactory placement of lime was not achieved with farm machinery." - Project summ
