Abstract: Angora goats run on a cobalt deficient property in the South Coastal region of Western Australia showed signs of acute cobalt deficiency several months before any signs were observed in Merino sheep run in conjunction with the goats. In both species blood haemoglobin estimations were an early indication of deficiency. Serum Vitamin B12 estimation by the Euglena method commonly used for diagnosis of cobalt deficiency in sheep did not appear to be as reliable in goats. The response of cobalt deficient go
