Singapore and other South-East Asian markets, particularly Malaysia and Hong Kong, are important to the Western Australian plum industry. Despite our long association and good reputation in Singapore, Western Australian plums are becoming less competitive against other fruits and suppliers. The reasons behind these developments and the improvements the plum industry needs to make to improve market prospects, are discussed.
