In this current project the active type C and type D botulism molecules were purified and used as antigens in the ELISA. They were able to detect cattle exposed to type C and type D botulism toxins respectively. The test was shown to be able to react specifically and sensitively in the vaccinated cattle and could be used to monitor efficacy of vaccination. It also showed that non-vaccinated cattle from properties that had "Meekatharra Staggers" cases had been exposed to type C or type D botulism toxins.Th
