Abstract:

During the voyage the effect of separation of feedlot non-feeders from feedlot feeders during shipping with relation to mortality and cause of death was tested. The relationship between body condition score and mortality was examined. Salmonella excretion rates in feeders and non-feeders in the feedlot and on board ship was examined. The temporal pattern of biochemistry parameters in feeders and non-feeders during feedlotting and shipping was examined.
