Abstract: Water balances were carried out on the water held in the channel of level interceptor banks at Hardies Catchment between 1984 and 1986 to help determine the effect of the banks on waterlogging and salinity. In particular it was hoped to determine the effect of the banks on recharge to the deep saline aquifer. Generally, there was an increase in runoff and interflow into the bank channels from the top of the hill to mid-slope. Total inflows were only a small percentage of rainfall. There appears to be
