With increased emphasis on lamb, mutton and live exports as part of the sheep enterprise, farmers are giving more thought to vaccinating their lambs. This Farmnote discusses how a vaccine works and best practice for vaccination programs, some commonly used vaccines (including enterotoxaemia or pulpy kidney, tetanus and other clostridial infections, cheesy gland, scabby mouth, arthritis and Ovine Johne's Disease), and how biosecurity can affect the prevelance of these diseases.
