Groundcovers are like living mulch in terms of the useful roles they play in gardens. However, many groundcovers compete with other plants and in some cases invade the natural environment. This Garden note discusses some types of groundcover, their characteristics and patterns of spread, and how to properly dispose of nuisance groundcovers.
