Discusses the difficulty of detecting Cysticercosis ovis in carcasses and boned mutton, and reports a series of survey and extension measures designed to reduce the incidence of affected carcasses reaching abattoirs. An initial step in the programme was to survey the incidence of Taenia ovis in farm dogs in the Albany region of Western Australia, and to locate dog management factors which might be influencing the distribution and permanence of ovine cysticercosis in the Albany area.
