Abstract: Observations during a voyage from Fremantle to the Middle East on a ship carrying about 10,000 sheep, indicated that slow movement of air past the sheep was an important technical problem. It is suggested that rate of air movement should greatly exceed that required by regulations unless sheep are carried at less than the densities allowed.
