Report on a project to develop a new disease diagnostic service for Western Australian growers as a section of Agwest Plant Laboratories within the Department of Agriculture Western Australia commencing in July 1998. The main achievements have been the complete revision of all-diagnostic protocols and procedures for all major crop and pasture species and the specialist training of one plant pathologist and one technical officer. Protocols for seed testing were upgraded to meet "International Seed Testing thority" guidelines.
