This farmnote illustrates the leaf diseases occurring in barley. Disease symptoms, effects and broad principles for control are discussed. Diseases include : net blotch (net-type and spot-type), scald, powdery mildew, leaf rust, halo spot, ring spot, Wirrega blotch, loose smut, covered smut, barley yellow dwarf virus and physiological leaf spotting.
