The major worm parasite of cattle in Western Australian winter rainfall areas is the brown stomach worm, Ostertagia ostertagi. Other worms are black scour worm - Trichostrongylus species, the thin-necked intestinal worm - Nematodirus, hair worm - Cooperia species and the large bowel worm - Oesophagostomum radiatum.
