Abstract: This video gives a brief history of the Australian Wool Testing Authority (AWTA) and explains it's functions. The main focus is the Laserscan wool testing technology developed by the CSIRO which was implemented by the AWTA from 1997. This system is also known as Sirolan Laserscan. Laserscan replaces the pervious methods of Airflow and projection microscopes for measuring various aspects of wool quality which have been phased out as the results they produce no longer meet the demands of wool producers, and
