The main objectives of the visit to Turkey, Syria and Dubai during May-June 2000 were to inspect the kabuli chickpea ascocyhyta blight disease nurseries at Izmir and select a set of lines with ascochyta blight resistance and agronomic adaptation for Australian conditions; to monitor the progress of pulse research at ICARDA and various joint projects between Australia and ICARDA on pulses; to discuss and develop future collaborative projects with pulse scientists at ICARDA and AARI; and, to discuss recent
