Abstract: The study demonstrated that although the predatory mite Metaseiulus occidentalis did successfully survive winter conditions experienced in the Manjimup region of Western Australia, it appeared unable to increase its population density rapidly enough at the beginning of the following season to exert control over Tetranychus urticae prior to leaf damage occurring.
