Abstract:	(En) The area surveyed by fieldwork during 1985-88 covers approximately 88,360 km2 of arid zone rangelands situated between Mt Magnet and Meekatharra in the east and the catchments of the Greenough and Wooramel rivers in the west. Land use in the area is dominated by 67 pastoral leases, the lands of which fall wholly within the survey in 53 cases and partly so for 14 others.
