Abstract: The Western Australian Department of Agriculture's former Queen Bee Breeding Program (QBBP) was successful in significantly raising the productivity of honey bees for those beekeepers who regularly purchased queen bees from the program. The increased productivity was measured through honey production. Over two nectar flows queen bees from beekeepers who regularly purchased breeding stock from the program (Group 2) showed an overall increase in honey production that was 35% more than those queen bees from
