Pastures for two grazing management experiments were sown at Mt Barker and Vasse Research Stations in autumn 1987 and the experiments were completed in summer 1991/92. Each December pastures at both sites were stocked with a new draft of steers at two per hectare and these steers remained for twelve months. The establishment of a perennial pasture treatment was only successful at Mt Barker, a site that appears ideally suited to Currie cocksfoot. At both sites botanical composition changed in respons
