Abstract: (En)
Several new serradella cultivars were thought to be capable of filling the pasture legume requirement for the deep sands, where sub-clover has not persisted. Balansa has revealed exciting short term potential in on-farm situations, but requires quantified animal and plant production data. The majority of the data generated in this project was derived from a large scale grazing trial, where serradella and balansa was compared to sub-clover at three stocking rates, on a sandy duplex soil. Seasonal produc
ge serradella in this environment. Preferred environs and management for balansa clover have not been well defined, though duplex soils appear to be prefferred. Wool and meat production was superior from sub-clover pastures under set stocking at Manypea
