Electric fences may be more economical and more effective than conventional fences for excluding animals such as rats, rabbits, dingoes, foxes and pigs. In most cases there are no recommended designs, however electric fences which are thought to be successful have been reported in this review. Some degree of experimentation will be required to develop a suitable electric fence for each new application against a pest species.
