Abstract: Describes some preliminary trials and one season of trials into the control of Rhizoctonia. Treatments including fungicides, seed size and seed phosphorus concentration were investigated. Pea Pickle T was identified as the most suitable seed dressing and it has been adopted commercially. Both large seed size and adequate seed phosphorus had beneficial effects on seedling growth. Low phosphorus concentration in the seed was associated with increased lesion development.
