In the USA, I visited the USDA Western Wheat Quality Laboratory, Pullman, Washington. This is a key laboratory supporting quality improvement and variety development in the Pacific Northwest. The main focus was on the development of wheats with improved colour stability, and sensory testing of texture was not being undertaken.
