During September 1996 Agriculture Western Australia commissioned a study on the future directions of the citrus industry in Western Australia. The need for the study arose as citrus plantings have been made in an ad hoc manner with no directional planning as to varieties for intended markets. As a result there was a need for a coordinated approach. The emphasis of the study is on increasing the market share of Western Australian sourced fruit in both Western Australia and markets outside of Western Aus
