This study examines the historical variability of wheat production in Western Australia and outlines a forecasting system for predicting future yields. Agriculture Western Australia's crop-modelling infrastructure, which includes a crop model, climate database and Geographic Information System (GIS), was further refined to respond to technological increases in yields.
