Abstract: Over 600 lines of Lathyrus sativus, L. cicera and L. ochrus were introduced from the Mediterranean region, Pakistan, India and Bangladesh and grown at Northam, Western Australia in an environment typical of the Mediterranean climates of southern Australia. Morphological and phenological characters were recorded and the seed analysed for the neurotoxin 3-(N-oxalyl)-L-2,3-diamino propionic acid (ODAP).In a year with below average range rainfall, yields, as a percentage range of the controls (field pea and c
