Abstract: (En)
The area surveyed comprised the Ord River Regeneration Reserve, which covers about 10,000 km2 of the total catchment area of Lake Argyle of 46,000 km2. It extends over parts of the Lissadell, Turkey Creek, Osmond, Dixon Range, Linnekar, Halls Creek, Antrim, Nicholson, Ruby Plains and Cow Creek 1:100,000 map sheets. Large areas of the cathment of the Ord River were severely eroded and degraded at the time plans were made to construct the Ord River Irrigation Scheme. The worst areas were resumed from the pa lished vegetation on most of the previously degraded areas. Condition assessment by traverse readings would indicate that about 28 percent of the Regeneration Reserve is in good range condition, 46 percent is in fair range condition and 27 percent is in
nd Spinifex Open Woodland pasture types. The exception is the Black Soil Plains type which, though close to water and supporting palatable pasture, is generally in good range condition, It is inherently resistant to erosion. The species introduced with
