Canola, field peas and pulse crops are very prone to mite damage, whereas lupins and cereals are able to withstand higher amounts of mite damage. An understanding of the identification, behaviour and biology of such mites as the redlegged earth mite (Halotydeus destructor), the blue oat mite (Penthaleus spp.), the clover or bryobia mite (Bryobia praetiosa), the balaustium mite (Balaustium medicagoenses) and how their populations are carried over between seasons is vital to the overall management of these
