The project established the performance characteristics of treatment systems under actual on-farm conditions. Whilst on-farm performance monitoring often introduces complicating factors which reduce the accuracy of the monitoring process, this reduction in accuracy was considered less significant than the loss of realism which would occur if the monitoring were undertaken under controlled conditions.
