Identifies optimum postharvest handling practices for a range of cut flower species currently exported from Australia. Specific handling practices investigated included cooling (eg room cooling, forced air cooling), packaging (eg sleeving), storage (eg duration, temperature) and transport. Sensitivity to ethylene and to water loss is also assessed. An underlying theme of this project is the development of an understanding of the physiological responses of cut flowers to various treatments in the postharve
