Abstract: The travel was undertaken to study current developments in the following fields of research : horticulture with particular emphasis on olives, avocados and tropical fruits such as mangoes; floricultural research with both domesticated and wild species; the design concepts and operation of botanic parks; mine dump reclamation; arid zone research and land reclamation. Travel was undertaken to Cyprus, Israel and South Africa.
