Report on a series of case studies comparing the relative profitability of different agroforestry systems incorporating woody crops with conventional agriculture in the cropping zones of Western Australia and New South Wales. It maps out the economic boundary conditions under which prospective agroforestry systems may be viable in lower rainfall zones. The Western Australian case studies were oil mallees (including) Eucalyptus kochii subsp. plenisimma and E. polybractea), tagasaste (Chamaecytisus prolife s), maritime pine (Pinus pinaster) and wattle (Acacia spp.).
