Nitrogen (N) fertiliser is a management tool for manipulating pasture yield and quality in Western Australia. Describes the three strategies: no fertiliser nitrogen; high nitrogen; and strategic nitrogen. Details the principles for best return, how and when to apply nitrogen, the expected response, when to graze, nitrogen products and environmental impacts. Outlines animal health issues such as: nitrate toxicity and ammonia toxicity/bloat.
