The aim of the project was to demonstrate the increase in producticity that may be obtained by surface drainage and integrated crop management on shallow waterlogging prone sandplain soils; investigate crop species and crop management options to maximise profitability from crop production on these soils; measure changes in surface and subsurface hydrology and establish the safety of off-site disposal of drainage waters as this relates to agricultural sustainability on the south coast of Western Australia.
