In 1991 a programme of water sampling was initiated. Sampling centred on the northern portion of the Peel-Harvey Coastal Catchment and focused on both intensive and diffuse landuse areas. A total of 19 sites were sampled at least twice a week to ascertain the nett phosphorus loads from the sub-catchments. Results of the 1991 monitoring programme included finding that the magnitude of the total phosphorus load leaving intensive horticulture properties in Mandogalup was lower than expected. Currently th
