Abstract: Results from this project have shown that increases in pasture productivity are possible, primarily with the use of more appropriate pasture legumes. Evaluation of 321 pasture legume lines over the course of the project has yielded a number of very promising lines for the targeted sandplain soils. The most suitable legume species for sandplain soils from those tested appears to be M. tornata.
