Abstract: (En)
Soil compaction in the eastern wheatbelt of Western Australia is caused by overuse of farm machinery, intensive cropping, short crop rotations, intensive grazing and inappropriate soil management. Generally compaction is not evident at the soil surface. This Farmnote discusses an amelioration package, the prolonging effect of gypsum in soil and the best tine spacing and ripping depth.
