The Western Australian field pea industry is established and is growing slowly. The proportion of Western Australia's pulse production made up by field peas, however, is declining as other pulse crops are becoming more popular. The industry is growing against a background of moderate international growth in demand for field peas. Field pea consumption appears to be growing in western Europe and India.
