Soil test data collected between 1983 and 1990 as part of the Peel-Harvey Fertiliser Advisory Program (FAP) were analysed in terms of the spatial and temporal trends in farmer participation and soil phosphorus levels for soil classes differentiated on the basis of reactive iron content. Farmer participation, as reflected by the number of farmers submitting soil samples and receiving fertiliser advice, peaked in 1984 then fell over time.
