Abstract: For three crops on an acid peaty sand, coastal superphosphate was the most effective P fertiliser. For three crops on a lateritic gravel loam, both coastal superphosphate and ordinary (single) superphosphate (OSP) were the most effective fertilisers. For two crops in a loamy sand, OSP was the most the most effective fertiliser. For each soil and crop, the relationship between yield of dried tops and the P concentration in the tops was similar for the different P fertilisers, suggesting that they had simil
